Our Story
I was raised by my grandmother, Irene Dixon. Later in life, I learned that at the time of my birth, my mother made the decision that she did not want to raise me. That reality could have shaped my life in a negative way—but my grandmother stepped in and changed everything.
She was a selfless woman whose love, discipline, and strength became the foundation of who I am today. Because of her, I’ve adopted a mindset centered on giving, خدمت, and lifting others up. Over the years, I’ve helped feed those in need, offered rides to work, and opened my home to people who simply needed a chance.
My grandmother worked hard at a tomato plant in Dania Beach, Florida. Instead of settling, she pushed forward—becoming a first-time homeowner when others might have chosen low-income housing. She later worked for Broward County Public Schools, purchased a duplex, and retired after 30 years of dedicated service. Her life taught me what perseverance looks like.
Growing up, I saw a different reality around me. Many of my family members struggled with incarceration and drug abuse. One relative even died in prison due to the lack of programs that could have helped him turn his life around. I witnessed firsthand what happens when people are left without guidance, support, or opportunity.
Despite not having my parents in the home and being raised in a challenging neighborhood, I made a decision: I would be different.
At 25 years old, I became an entrepreneur, owning and operating a detailing business and mobile service for 18 years. I refused to let my environment define me—but I also never forgot where I came from.
Many of the people I grew up with didn’t have the love or support I was blessed to receive. I watched friends and classmates fall into drug use, homelessness, and cycles of incarceration. Some were trying to survive. Others were trying to help their families. But without guidance, those choices led them down difficult paths.
The violence I witnessed—shootings, loss, and trauma—left a lasting impact on me. That’s why I am committed to being present in those same communities today: to help prevent others from walking that same path.
I could have easily become another statistic. Instead, through my grandmother’s wisdom and example, I broke the cycle.
